- The remoteness… It is just you and nature. It’s one of the most peaceful places I’ve ever been.
- Natural pools… Along your hike, you will come across natural pools in the rainforest. The water is so cold but so refreshing along the hike.
- Rope swings & rock slides… swinging or sliding into the natural, rainforest pools is such a freeing feeling.
If you choose to go on a guided tour, they will be able to provide you the best experience depending on the time of year, weather, etc.
How much time do you need in El Yunque?
A day in El Yunque was the perfect amount for me… after a challenging hike and swimming in the natural pools, I was ready to get back to San Juan.
If you have limited time, I think a day trip is perfect.
If you have extended time, start with a day and see how you like it. If you feel like you need more, extend your time in the rainforest.
How much does it cost to go to El Yunque rainforest?
If you choose to go solo, you will need to hire a driver to get you there and back… Your phone won’t work there, so don’t make the mistake of relying on Uber.
If going solo, hiring a driver will be your only expense.
If don’t want the hassle of planning that all out, a tour would be your best option… they take care of transportation.
